Surfaces in Relevant Places
PLANIUM by Terenzi Srl has often created surfaces in highly relevant environments. On several occasions it has composed the ideal scenario for the exhibition of works of art and history.
The brand offers a catalog of metal finishes which, over the seasons, has gradually expanded, giving great space to technology and innovation. Our floorings and coverings create unforgettable settings, and are never simple neutral containers, but rather true protagonists in the perception of the whole.
In the city of Florence, a treasure chest that the world admires, Calamine Steel has highlighted and renovated two well-known galleries.
The technical services of the Municipality of the Tuscan capital, with the approval of the Fine Arts, have chosen the changeable finish of PLANIUM, as the perfect accompaniment that enhances what is on display.
Let us start, therefore, by telling the story of the Museo del Novecento:
1,000 m˛ divided into 15 rooms: the century is explained during the journey in its tendencies and counter-tendencies, in the characters and movements, often breaking with the past.
The surfaces were applied with the PL01 Invisible one-click immediate removable installation system; next to it AC02 Stick-on solutions with traditional gluing installation. No footfall noise, thanks to the rubber underlay, maximum comfort along the museum walk even in the event of considerable attendance.
In addition, special pieces are created: exhibition panels and walls, coverings for the access ramps to the rooms and for the foyer counter, covers for information totems and custom-designed "sound showers", with laser cutting.
We then go to the Palazzo della Signoria, a building which is the very heart of the City of Lily:
for the entrance and the ticket office it was decided to completely reinterpret the aesthetics: the Calamine slab covering is positioned on the walls behind the desk area using the AC02 Stick-on system. The result is pure elegance, defined and tidy contours.
Each batch of Calamine is unique in its chromatic shades. In this case the large dimensions of the slabs emphasize the anthracite veins flecked with blue.
Floors and coverings cannot be limited to having clear and uniform colours, they must rather amaze at every glance, inclination and perspective. Calamine was born with this idea, whose beauty arises precisely from the multifaceted effects of the hot working of the metal: a flourish of shades from gray to petrol, from blue to light blue which are then superimposed by bronze tones and golden blazes.
Each element is unique and new, unrepeatably precious.
The position of each slab can be modified and the various geometries can be oriented in a new way each time, if applied with our self-laying and reversible systems. All you need to do is move a few plates and the effect obtained will always be distinct.
