4, 5, 6 October: Fiera Milano hosted Viscom, the main Italian exhibition dedicated to visual communication, which has now reached its historic milestone of 34 years.
The Power of Senses is the concept of the RICOH Italia stand at Viscom, the most innovative, immersive and artistic by vocation of all the exhibitors at the event.
An exhibition booth with a sensory gallery that welcomed spectators, giving rise to a 360° experience where all the senses were involved: through the sounds and scents characterizing the jungle, with the visual experience of lights and colors and tactile thanks to the application on the entire surface of the gallery of GREENYL discs, PVC-free with their chromatic and stylistic variety. The sensorial journey also continued inside the booth, set up like a real jungle, where Ricoh technology and its multiple and colorful applications created on the most varied print media were king. These are precisely the choices that led to the development of “The Power of Sense” concept.
The Power of Senses record, created specifically with Ricoh Pantone, illustrates the image of the cover in etching, i.e. the stylized face of a jaguar. The acoustic dimension - 7 songs - was entrusted to Stefano Aschieri who studied the sounds suitable for the context, with a specific musical motif.
The cover graphics, chromatically echoing the jungle, were then also reproduced, with 3D printing performed directly on the record, on the sound side (in the circular space traditionally intended for the label).
GREENYL is the project that united RUDE RECORDS, an independent record label based in Milan and recognized worldwide and with global distribution in partnership with The Orchard (a Sony Music company) and TERENZI - our ISO certified mechatronic production company since 1967 9001, specialized in the transformation of plastic materials and metals - to create innovative records, but free of those harmful substances that characterized historical media.
The difference between the emissions of the raw material used by GREENYL and the PVC used from 1947 to today in the production of vinyl is equivalent to a saving of approximately 7.1kg CO2e/kg. During its processing, PVC also emits not only CO2 but also chlorides which are extremely harmful to health. 80% of the energy used to produce GREENYL comes from solar panels. A composite of 99% certified recycled plastic and recyclable plastic material replaces the previous PVC of traditional vinyl.
Also important is a mention of the ecology of RICOH inks, which have obtained Greenguard Gold certification, guaranteeing minimal environmental impact and low chemical emissions. Furthermore, in Ricoh Pro TF6251 the use of long-life LED lamps to polymerize the inks helps to optimize efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
RICOH Italia, the Italian branch of the multinational founded in Tokyo in 1936, supplied TERENZI with the aforementioned Ricoh Pro TF6251 printing solution for GREENYL records. This printer was on display at the Fair together with the Pro L 5160 and the new products presented at Viscom for the first time worldwide: Ricoh Pro C7500 and Ricoh Pro C9500.
