Embossed Steel is one of the most elaborate and particular metals of PLANIUM as it refers to a historically relevant process. The embossing proposed by PLANIUM is in fact respecting the most ancient tradition. The indicated surface is smooth in a first phase, before undergoing the process, while it will then be equipped with permanent embossed elevations. We are speaking in general of embossing machines which essentially have two cylinders and, it should be specified, this particular technique does not only concern metals, quite the opposite: embossing can be applied to paper, rubber, fabrics. The historiated surface acquires a particular aesthetic and better mechanical properties. Embossed steel is in fact among the PLANIUM steel that has a more "tactile" dimension as it is materially distinguished from the others. We would also recognize it by touching it and without seeing it, thanks to the sensitivity of the fingertips, or by walking on it, as in the specific case concerning the PLANIUM installations.

The Italian term “goffrato” comes from the French "gauffrè" which indicates a fabric with a raised surface, an imprint with an ornamental motif called "dessin gaufré" or "dessin à carreau".

It goes without saying that these “original” characteristics of the embossed material maintain at the same time those that already have basic stainless steels. That is, the long-term resistance over time, indicated by the resistance to the tread, or the chromatic brightness or the hygienic function typical of this metal, used precisely in contexts that require these requirements.

There were several exhibition booths covered by PLANIUM with embossed steel, projects with an international character and not just European or Italian. A large number that indicates in the embossed a driving force of the brand, one of the products that launched and accompanied it on the market.

In Stuttgart, Germany, for the Porsche Museum; in Milan the Booth of Poste Italiane and the Puma Headquarters; in Brescia for Simes SPA (2005) in a space revisited last year by PLANIUM who also installed the Calamine; a Disco Pub in London; in exotic Hong Kong the Desideri International Limited Showroom (2007), in Bologna for the well-known Mapei Co. (2006 and 2007).

This steel extends its peculiarity of form to the point of making the "mantle" appear as an expanse of canvas or grid, intricate and at the same time compact in the color, a metallic gray.

PLANIUM has designed dry laying systems to install such steel: with magnetic coupling, MG01 Magnetic Floor; AP01 Lay Floor with lay-on installation; PL01 Invisible Floor with One-click installation; SM02 Evolution Floor, mechanical with visible angle screws.
